She is recognized as an expert in effective alternatives to youth incarceration and has contributed to the American Probation and Parole Association's (APPA) 10 Core Principles of Juvenile Probation. Aazia-Marie co-developed the Reimagining Juvenile Justice training curriculum in partnership with the Annie E. Casey Foundation and School and Main (SMI). As the Creative and Engagement Director for the Young Leaders Network, in fall '23 Aazia-Marie organized the national youth-led conference "Nurturing Disruption."
Leading Cynosure Consulting, she provides technical assistance and strategies related to youth justice, and brings extensive experience in facilitating mindful and holistic discussions and workshops. A certified yoga instructor, artist, and community organizer, Aazia-Marie integrates her personal wellness practices into her leadership approach.
Currently, Aazia-Marie serves as a Fellow with the Youth in Transition Funders Group (YTFG), a representative on Minnesota's Governor-appointed State Advisory Group (SAG), and consults for various foundations, non-profits, and state government agencies to advance safety, healing, and well-being for youth, families, and communities impacted by the youth justice system.
